San Francisco Love Fest 2: Parade

I worked downtown for an hour and then returned to Market Street in time to catch the end of the parade at 4th Street.

Much of the joy of the event comes from the youth of the participants who seem to have streamed in from all over the Bay Area...

...radiating sex and eros in all directions.

There were the occasional middle-aged pervert Naked Guys here and there...

...but most of the teenagers either just ignored or laughed uproariously at them.

There was little to no political content at the event other than one float promising a dystopian future...

...though the organization's website (click here) does start off with the statement, "While Americans are struggling with an economic meltdown, ruthless hurricane season and political uncertainty of our future, San Francisco LoveFest will provide some much needed love."

It continues: "Now more than ever we need to take over the streets and City Hall to express and share the values of culture, peace, love, unity, and respect," said Joshua Smith, SF LoveFest founding board member.

"There is no better time for an event of this scale and intention. Our community needs to come together, enjoy life and hold onto the good things."
