California Teachers Protest

Last week started with TV trucks on McAllister Street at 7AM for a photo-op...

...in front of the California Public Utilities Commission building with its iconic state seal.

Teachers were staging the first of a week's worth of protests asking that funds to education in California not be drastically cut in the proposed draconian budget that's shaping up between Governor Brown and the legislative Republicans.

Friday evening brought a larger demonstration in Civic Center Plaza...

...with signage such as "Banks Get Bailed Out, Schools Get Sold Out."

Investing in the next generation's education seems like a no-brainer, but being a high school dropout, who am I to say?
