Cinderella's Castle at the SF Opera House

A small army of workmen have been building a huge structure in the back of the San Francisco Opera House parking lot.

Besides a large party tent, this also involved a scaffold which a party planner told me was for "the front of the castle."

I was hoping for a three-dimensional stage set, but the structure turned out to be the backing for a large two-dimensional flat.

The decorations are for an opening night gala party this evening for San Francisco Ballet's new production of Prokofiev's Cinderella choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon.

People must be starved for entertainment because the entire run is already sold out this week, and patrons are encouraged to subscribe to next year's season if they want to see the ballet.
